74 riders in total lined up in the 3 races of the 38th International cyclo-cross of the ACC Contern Thijs Aerts from Belgium had the best start in the 25th GP Comat for juniors … followed by Luc Turchi and Thomas Van de Velde Swiss rider Johan Jacobs dominated the race for novices, just a few seconds behind the best junior. Following junior Eric Gleis, Philippe Sunnen is second in the novice's category Thijs Aerts, junior winner Johan Niklas Jacobs celbrates his fifth season victory with a special salute The podium of the 25ème Grand-prix COMAT: Thijs Aerts (winner juniors), Edie Rees (best woman) and Johan Jacobs (winner novices) Start of the 8th Grand-prix de la Commune de Contern Sascha Weber has got the hole shot ahead of Jan Denuwelaere and Jim Aernouts … … followed by Dutchman Mitchell Huenders, then Cant, Soete, etc Gusty Bausch (with Stijn Huys and Braam Merlier) didn't have his best start As of the second lap, Jim Aernouts is leading the race Weber still second … … but he is soon replaced by Denuwelaere. Jan Denuwelaere in second position Third place for Tim Merlier Jens Vanderkinderen crosses the line in fourth position Young Daan Soete takes fifth Sixth place for Belgian elite without contract champion Kevin Cant. Dave De Cleyn finishes seventh The only non-Belgian in the Top 10: Nico Brungger in eigth position Ritchie Denolf wins the sprint for ninth place ahead of Mathias Van de Velde Gusty Bausch (16th) is happy to be first rider from Luxembourg Christian Helmig in 20th position, about a minute down on Bausch Filip Adel (22nd) is first Czech rider.
