Alternative program for the 2021 edition of the « La Charly Gaul », during the week-end of September 4 and 5, 2021 in Echternach.

Due to the circumstances linked to the health crisis, which is still going on in 2021, the ACC Contern has decided to renounce to the organization of a traditional "La Charly Gaul" race on Sunday, September 5th in Echternach and to replace the cyclosportive by an alternative program during the whole weekend of September 4th and 5th 2021.

This decision is guided by precautionary principles. Indeed, the current regulations require any organiser of a public event to validate the Anti-Covid status of all persons involved (vaccination or test), and ACC Contern does fear that it has nor the logistical, nor the personal means to do this in adequate way, given that participants come from several different countries with different regulations, and that the time to carry out any rapid tests on site is extremely limited.

On the other hand, the ACC Contern takes note of the fact that the cycling race calendar in the Grand-Duchy of Luxemburg is reduced to only a few events in 2021, after an almost empty year 2020, and has therefore decided to propose an alternative program for the 31st edition of the Charly Gaul during the weekend of September 4 and 5, consisting of cycling races for licensed riders of all categories and a tourist cycling tour with free start time and free speed for all other cycling lovers.
