GENERAL INFO

La 31ème Charly Gaul is organized on Saturday, September 4, 2021 and Sunday, September 5, 2021 according to the rules of the Fédération du Sport Cycliste Luxembourgeois (FSCL) and the Union Cycliste Internationale (UCI).

It consists of a permanent tourist cycling tour and cycling races for licensed riders of all categories.

Organizer is the cycling club ACC Contern, represented by its president Alain Conter, 47 Op der Hobuch, L-5832 Fentange, Tél: (+352) 621 23 16 45, e-mail: acccontern@gmail.com

The permanent office of the organizer and the registrations are located in the rue Alferweiher in Echternach, near the "Voyages Bollig" establishments.

The strict respect of the traffic regulations is required for all participants


REGISTRATION

Pre-registrations are mandatory for the races for licensed riders, until Thursday, September 2, 2021 (24h00) on the internet-site of the FSCL (http://fscl.lu/inscription-online/)..

Registration on the day of the race without pre-registration is not possible.

If you are in possession of a MyLaps compatible transponder, please use it on the day of the race and also mention the code when you register.

There is no participation fee for riders but a rental fee of 10 EUR may be charged to participants who need to rent a transponder.

All persons implicated in the race must respect the Anti-Covid Concept for the race.

For participants of the tourist cycling tour, no registration is required.


TOURIST CYCLING TRIP

The cycling tourist tour of La 31ème Charly Gaul is organized by the ACC Contern from September 4th 2021 to October 31st 2021. It is a so-called permanent cycle touring event according to the rules of the Fédération du Sport Cycliste Luxembourgeois (FSCL) and open to all cyclists.

Registration is not necessary. In order to validate his route, each competitor can use the participation card for permanent tours that has been made available by the FSCL or that he can download HERE

In order to collect points in the FSCL sport-loisirs ranking, each competitor must have his participation card stamped at the different control points present on the course and corresponding to his distance (see article 4). The participation cards can be downloaded HERE and can be sent back scanned to the e-mail address acccontern@gmail.com or by post to Mr. Josy Gindt, 44, Parc Lesigny, L-5753 FRISANGE.

Four courses with distances of approximately 60 km, 100 km, 120 km and 150 km are available to participants. They can be downloaded HERE in different formats. Controls with the possibility to stamp your participation card exist at maximum 6 places on the course, depending on the distance.

Check point 3 : Kautenbach (150 km)
Check point 4 : Beaufort (60 km, 100 km, 120 km, 150 km)
Check point 5 : Herborn (60 km, 100 km, 120 km, 150 km)
If, for any reason, a control is not accessible at a given time, any other stamp coming from a place nearby (same locality or neighbour place) is accepted.

The organizer declines all responsibility in case of accident or incident. Civil liability or accident insurance is the responsibility of the participant.

Start times are free from Saturday, September 4, 2021 to Sunday, October 31, 2021 from any place on the course.

Participants can send the data of their ride on the course electronically to the organizer, by e-mail (acccontern@gmail.com), by means of social networks (#lacharlygaul) or by specialized applications (see details on our website http://www.lacharlygaul.lu). We will establish a symbolic and virtual classification from these data, in addition to the Sport-Loisir classification of the FSCL.


RACES FOR LICENSED RIDERS

All persons involved in the cycling races must respect the Anti-Covid rules and the concept presented earlier in this document.

The radio-tour frequency is 157,610 Mh

There will be no official ceremony with prize-giving. The prizes are to be collected by the riders after their race at the official office.

Possible anti-doping controls can be carried out under the supervision of the Luxembourg Anti-Doping Agency (ALAD)

2nd Grand-prix CHARLY GAUL (MINIMES)

This is a regional cycling race registered on the FSCL national calendar and is open to riders in the MINIMES category (male and female - under 13).

The race will be held as a road race over a distance of 22,5 km (3 laps of 7,5 km). Total vertical drop: 3 x 110 = 330 m

A common classification is established for the race, which also indicates the place of each rider within his category (male or female)

No other support cars than neutral cars of the organizer are allowed on the course during the race. Two neutral cars will be at the disposal of the runners in case of breakdown.

The award ceremony will take place immediately after the finish on the podium installed near the finish line. The first three riders of the race and, if applicable, the best rider of the category not represented on the podium will be invited.

The prices are those recommended by the FSCL for this type of event (scale 01).

2nd Grand-prix CHARLY GAUL (CADETS)

This is a regional cycling race registered on the FSCL national calendar and is open to riders in the CADETS category (male and female - under 15).

The race will be held as a road race over a distance of 30 km (4 laps of 7,5 km). Total vertical drop: 4 x 110 = 440 m

A common classification is established for the race, which also indicates the place of each rider within his category (male or female)

No other support cars than neutral cars of the organizer are allowed on the course during the race. Two neutral cars will be at the disposal of the runners in case of breakdown.

The award ceremony will take place immediately after the finish on the podium installed near the finish line. The first three riders of the race and, if applicable, the best rider of the category not represented on the podium will be invited.

The prices are those recommended by the FSCL for this type of event (scale 02).

3rd Souvenir MARCEL GILLES

This is a regional cycling race registered on the FSCL national calendar and is open to riders in the categories novices (male and female - under 17), juniors (U19 - female), U23 (female) and elite (female).

The race will be held as a road race over a distance of 60 km (8 laps of 7,5 km). Total vertical drop: 8 x 110 = 880 m

A common classification is established for the race, which also indicates the place of each rider within his category (male or female)

No other support cars than neutral cars of the organizer are allowed on the course during the race. Two neutral cars will be at the disposal of the runners in case of breakdown.

The award ceremony will take place immediately after the finish on the podium installed near the finish line. The first three riders of the race and, if applicable, the best rider of the category not represented on the podium will be invited.

The prices are those recommended by the FSCL for this type of event (scale 03.

97th Grand-prix FRANCOIS FABER

This is a regional cycling race registered on the FSCL national calendar and is open to riders in the MASTERS and JUNIORS categories (male).

The race will be held as a road race over a distance of 75 km (10 laps of 7,5 km). Total vertical drop: 10 x 110 = 1100 m

A common classification is established for the race, which also indicates the place of each rider within his category.

No other support cars than neutral cars of the organizer are allowed on the course during the race. Two neutral cars will be at the disposal of the runners in case of breakdown.

The award ceremony will take place immediately after the finish on the podium installed near the finish line. The first three riders of the race and, if applicable, the best rider of the category not represented on the podium will be invited.

33rd Grand-prix OST-Manufaktur

This is a regional cycling race registered on the FSCL national calendar and is open to riders in the MINIMES category (male and female - under 13)

Riders of the junior and masters categories are not allowed to line up because they have their own race on the same day.

The race will be held as a road race over a distance of 105 km (14 laps of 7,5 km). Total vertical drop: 14 x 110 = 1.540 m

A common classification is established for the race, which also indicates the place of each rider within his category (male or female)

The award ceremony will take place immediately after the finish on the podium installed near the finish line. The first three riders of the race and, if applicable, the best rider of the category not represented on the podium will be invited.
