Luxemburg National championships - 24.06.2012 - Tétange

9 riders have dominated the National road championships 2012, among them most of the pre-race favourites Kevin Feiereisen was chasing on his own behind this prominent group during a long while. The peloton is led by Ralf Diseviscourt Frank Schleck at the head of the leading group Daniel Bintz in the peloton Christian Helmig is leading the break. For the second year in a row, he will win the elite without contract title. Ben Gastauer tries his luck on his own with four laps to go Bob Jungels at the head of the leading group Laurent Didier is taking a snack under the pouring rain Frank Schleck in the leading group Gusty Bausch ahead of Tom Flamang who will win the silver medal in the elite without contract category. Evergreen Pascal Triebel on his road to a bronze medal in the elite without contract category Three riders are still in contention for the title in the main category with one lap to go: Schleck, Didier, Gastauer Schlechter, Jungels and Kirsch fight for the U23 victory, while Christian Helmig has virtually won the title in the elite without contract race with one lap to go. Laurent Didier celebrates his title while the sprint for second has begun behind him Eventual winner after a tactical race: Laurent Didier. Ben Gastauer second ahead of Frank Schleck who has to settle down with the bronze medal Leopard-Trek wins the U23 title: Kirsch ahead of Jungels and Schlechter.
