Christian Poos has won the 88th edition of the Grand-prix François Faber while being at the front of the race from the beginning to the end. The defending champion took some risks by breaking away early with two junior riders, but Alex Kirsch and Bob Jungels were very strong until the end and the second of the European time-trial championships even was able to take the second place at the finish, one minute and a half behind dominating Christian Poos. ... more ...

The athmosphere wasn't very bright in Bech, for the Grand-prix OST-Fenster 2010. On the day before, the news of Kim Kirchen's heart accident had occured and most of the members of the ACC Contern were still schocked. In addition, more bad news about an accident by our long-term member Arthur Bausch came out in the afternoon. It was with the best wishes for Kim Kirchen that Marcel Gilles sent the riders onto the hilly roads around Bech and the racing was great, with a strong winner since Hakan Nilson was able to hold off his chasers on his own during 15 kilometres before taking a solo great victory. ... more ...

For the third year in a row, the Gala Tour de France improved all audience records and despite a live coverage on TV, tenth of thousands of fans found the way to the new, old course around the avenue de la Liberté in Luxemburg. With such a big crowd, the security issue on the spectacular course in the uptown city was not respected any more and the event had to move back to the station region where it had been held aready years before. One man alone was of course responsible for the massive crowds and he was cheered on all the way long: on the honour lap in a double decker bus, at the presentation of the riders, during the race and at the award ceremony which he attended as the winner, there was only one sound to be heard: Andy, Andy, Andy .... ... more ...

Steve Chainel has managed a perfect score this week-end in all the senses of the word. He has won on Saturday the regional race in Cornimont, next to his home, before taking the victory on Sunday in Contern, making it his second win out of two starts in the cyclocross organized by the ACC and his fifth victory out of five starts in Luxemburg. Impressive. However, the opponents were strong in Contern and, if the Czech riders were less strong due to different circumstances, the Belgian stars showed a huge opposition to the Frenchman ... at least until mid-race. In the junior category, on the other hand, the Czech contenders dominated the race and were stronger than the other pre-race favourites, the Sweeck brothers from Belgium. ... more ...
