REPORT

The dutch riders seem dominating in the first few laps. Marten Nijland leads the bunch during the first lap, then the favourite Wim de Vos attacks and gets a gap of ten seconds. But he is caught again by a group of riders and will finish the race far behind the leaders. Towards the middle of the race, Polish champion Tadeusz Korzeniewski attacks. He takes the lead with 50 m advantage on French national champion Dominique Arnould and Ondrej Lukes. With three laps to go, the two chasers get closer to Korzeniewski: suspens guaranteed. But the Polish champion has some power left and manages to keep the distance until the finish line. Lukes drops Arnould in the last lap for place. Nice race for luxembourgish rider Gusty Bausch who had a very bad beginning but finishes in sixth place. |
