La 19ème Charly Gaul - September 7, 2008 - Echternach

Regulations:

  • La 19ème Charly Gaul is organized by the ACC Contern on Sunday, September 7, 2008. Is is a cyclosport-race (brevet cyclosportif) authorized by the Fédération du Sport Cycliste Luxembourgeois (FSCL) and registered in the international calendar of the Union Cycliste Internationale (UCI). The race is open for every cyclist older than 14 years.

  • Each participant must pay the registration fee cash on Saturday, September 6, 2008 or on Sunday, September 7, 2008 before getting his backnumber.

  • The riders are considered as normal traffic participants and have to apply strictly to the traffic regulations. If they don't, they will be responsible for possible caused damage. The organizer is not responsible for any damage.

  • The course will be indicated by signs and has to be followed strictly.

  • Insurances have to be contracted by the participants. The organizer is not responsible for any damage caused by an accident.

  • Assistance cars are not allowed on the course. Participants that are followed by assistance cars will be disqualified.

  • The participants have to wear a helmet.

  • The participants have to wear the backnumber and transponder that they receive from the organizer. The transponder helps to establish the classifications and to do controls on the course.

  • A number to put onto the helmet is also handled out. This number is required in order to set-up a photo-service.

  • The participants have to handle back the “transponder” immediately after the race in the finish area.

  • Each participant has to cross the start line after the official start in order to be listed in the result list. Times will be taken at the start/finish line.

  • Diplomas are handled out on request in a bus near the finish line. They are available shortly after your arrival.

  • Following the rules of the ministry for transport, riders that are more than 1 hour behind the leader will be informed by a car of the organizer ("FIN DE COURSE"). At that moment, the streets and crossroads will no longer be guarded by the police or race marshalls, but the riders can of course finish the race and if they do so, they will appear on the result list.

  • If these regulations are not followed by a participant, he will be disqualified.

  • By his registration, each participant takes knowledge of the regulations.


    • La Charly Gaul A

  • The handling out of the back-numbers and the race-documents is on Saturday, September 6, 2008 between 14h00 and 18h00 o'clock as well as on Sunday, Septermber 7, 2008, between 6h30 and 8h00 in the cultural centrum "Trifolion", rue des Ecoliers in Echternach.

  • Start of the race is at 9h00 o'clock on the market place (place du Marché) in Echternach. The finish is open until 17h00 o'clock.

  • The distance is of 160 kilometers.

  • Riders of the category A ride on their own for the first 105 kilometers of the race. After that, at the place called Groesteen, they will be joined by the contenders of category B and ride for the rest of the course together with them.

  • Registration fees 25 Euro in case of pre-registration (online, per postal mail or per fax before September 4, 2008). 30 Euro in case of post-registration on Saturday, September 6, 2008 or Sunday, September 7, 2008.

  • Registration fees have to be paid at the handling out of the race-documents and back-numbers in the permanent office. It gives the right to a diploma, a backnumber, food and security on the course.

  • A scratch classification is established as well as seperate classifications for the different categories.

  • The categories are following: A: women 14-17 years / B: women 18-39 years / C: women 40 years and more / D: men 14-17 years / E: men 18-29 years / F: men 30-39 years / G: men 40- 49 years / H: men 50-59 years / I: men 60 years and more /

  • race-jerseys, cups and flowers will be handled out to the first riders in the scratch classification as well as in the different categories.


    • La Charly Gaul B

  • The handling out of the back-numbers and the race-documents is on Saturday, September 6, 2008 between 14h00 and 18h00 o'clock as well as on Sunday, Septermber 7, 2008, between 7h00 and 10h00 in the cultural centrum "Trifolion", rue des Ecoliers in Echternach.

  • The distance is of 92 kilometers.

  • Riders of the category B ride on their own for the first 37 kilometers of the race. After that, at the place called Groesteen, they will be joined by the contenders of category A and ride for the rest of the course together with them.

  • Start of the race is at 10h45 o'clock on the market place (place du Marché) in Echternach. The finish is open until 17h00 o'clock.

  • Registration fees 15 Euro in case of pre-registration (online, per postal mail or per fax before September 4, 2008). 20 Euro in case of post-registration on Saturday, September 6, 2008 or Sunday, September 7, 2008.

  • Registration fees have to be paid at the handling out of the race-documents and back-numbers in the permanent office. It gives the right to a diploma, a backnumber, food and security on the course.

  • A scratch classification is established as well as seperate classification for ladies.

  • race-jerseys, cups and flowers will be handled out to the first riders in the scratch classification as well as to the first ladies.

  • Only riders that have no licence in a cycling federation can participate in the B-race, except leisure cyclists (cyclo-touristes) and women.
