Under a splendid sunshine, around fifty riders took off for the 85th edition of the Grand-prix François Faber, held in form of a criterium as a support event for the Gala Tour de France.
After a very fast start, the peloton quickly splits up with the best juniors being at the front, together

with Pascal Kess, the only rider of the Masters category to match up with the young guns. Claude Hermes is very active in the lead, but it is Kess who is the fastest and takes most of the intermediate points. He wins three sprints in a row and takes a comfortable margin over his younger oppononents.

Vincent Dias Dos Santos, Claude Hermes, Raymond Splinter and Ben Klein, whereas the other ones are caught by the peloton. A peloton in which Suzie Godart is the only women left and she is even very active, taking turns and marking points at the sprints.

UC Dippach dominates the novices

the rider from Kayl had already enough points on his account to stay in the lead. He wins the scratch classification of the 85th Grand-prix François Faber, as well as the juniors/masters rankings ahead of Dias Dos Santos and Claude Hermes.
39 seconds later, Olivier Wies wins the sprint of the peloton and increases his margin on second-placed Kevin Feyereisen in the novices category. In the final rankings, Wies has 6 points advantage on his team-mate from the UC Dippach and 13 on Max Michely from LC Tétange. Suzie Godard finishes as first lady, one lap ahead of Gina Haatz.
