Schleck and Kirchen in the lead group
A group of 25 riders has formed on the second climb of the day, among them Kim et Frank. On the third and last climb, more than 30 km from the finish line, Kirchen tries alone and gets away. At the top of the hill, he has 10 seconds advantage on the first chasers and a minute on a bigger group, among which several teams, including the CSC of Schleck, work hard. The Fassa Bortolo rider is caught with 7 km to go and finishes in 83rd position, but everything is all right for his team because Pozzato takes the victory in the sprint. Frank Schleck ends in 75th place.

After having been very active at the front of the race until 25 km from the finish line and having been in a break of 4 riders for some kilometers, Kim did not finish the race which was held under poor security conditions. But: "the legs are good".

Once more a good race for Frank Schleck in this stage covered with an average speed of over 39 km/h despite 5 climbs of 2nd and 3rd categories. A group of 41 riders formed the head of the race after the last climb, among it Frank Schleck. With only a few kilometers to go, the Luxemburgish rider did a solo escape, but he was caught again by winner Etxebarria, and then by the rest of the lead group.

Another very fast race (45,8 km/h average speed), on a flat stage with only one climb of the 4th category. At the end, the bunch splits into pieces and Frank is in the 4th group 16 seconds late. Zabel beaten once more by the young Australien rider Davis.

In spite of the hilly course with 4 climbs, the last one (Coll de Puig Major) with 17 kms to go, the whole bunch arrives together in Port de Soller where Frank takes a nice 12th place. In the climbs, he wasn't far away from the best riders.
